HER NAME IS ROSE is my first novel…

New York was home until I moved to the west of Ireland, with my Irish born husband, novelist, Niall Williams. We moved to the cottage my grandfather left in the early 1900s. I’d worked in publishing, both in Boston (where I went to college) and in NYC before we left.  In our early years in Kiltumper, Niall and I’ve co-authored four bestselling non-fiction books on country living in County Clare which were published by Soho Press in New York. The first, O Come Ye Back to Ireland, is now available as an ebook.

In 2001-2, my children and Niall and I travelled around the world for 9 months. So Many Miles to Paradise, a travel memoir I wrote about that journey. It was published the following year but is now only available as an ebook. At various times I’ve been a houseplant doctor for Neiman Marcus, a copyeditor for ‘The American Journal of Medicine’, an administrator of writing workshops, the author of a monthly column called ‘The View from Kiltumper’, and the founder of an artist cooperative and gallery where I sold my paintings.

Her Name is Rose is my first novel.  It was published in April 2015 by St. Martin’s Press and has been translated into Polish, published by Świat Książki, and in Turkish with Timas Publishers, Turkey. Also available in trade paperback (U.S.) and as an audio book.

I’ve finished working on my next novel, The Year of Two Blue Moons.
Stay tuned….
